The Lower East Side Remembered & Revisited: History and Guide to a Legendary New York Neighborhood Here Joyce Mendelsohn constructs an extensive guide to the Lower East Side, combining a broad history of our ‘hood with five walking tours that can ostensibly be done book-in-hand (be careful!). The book is rife with unbiased detail, filled with period photographs as well as recent images by Paul Margolis.
