FREEMANS: A great spot to - catch up with an old friend, hang at the bar with new ones, enjoy the company of a charming date or impress an ‘out-of-towner’.
The food salutes simple, rustic, early American menu staples. 20-30 minute waits on tables aren’t uncommon at busy times of the night, but the bar is always open for great cocktails and wine while you immerse in the eclectic decor and intimate ambience.
Nestled at the end of an unused alley off the Bowery….it has remarkably remained one of the city’s best kept secrets. A perfect place to cozy up to on these cold winter nights.
Foodie Fix: Artichoke dip is heavenly and great for sharing.
Despite it maybe seeming sort of swanky and weird, I still want to try it out. It’s at the end of Freeman Alley off Rivington between Bowery and Chrystie. It’s a cool location, feels sorta secretive and special. And I am a sucker for artichoke dip.. Freeman’s is definitely on the list.
