I love when people listen to me…

A friend who lives in Westchester asked me for places in the East Village to have a birthday party. Among the requirements: “chill, not obnoxious, not loud, and has good beer.” I named about five places.

I got the invite today. The venue is not one I recommended. Instead, it’s a place on the Lower East Side with stripper poles and a velvet rope, and on a Friday night, will undoubtedly be unchill, decidedly obnoxious, extremely loud, and its best beer offering is Blue Moon.

UPDATE: There are bracelets involved! And getting into a back room! And saying someone’s name at the door! SO. MUCH. FUN.

Some friends who live in Hoboken came in on Saturday night. Called and said to come meet them.

Me: “Where you gonna be?”

Her: “[The one place on Ludlow with a velvet rope].”

Me: [Hangs up].
